Spokane Valley firefighters rescue kayaker who had life jacket, didn't use it

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Spokane Valley firefighters had to rescue a man from the Spokane River whose kayak flipped over the weekend. Firefighters responded to a water rescue call on Saturday around 6 p.m. Dispatch reported a man that was kayaking down the river when he tipped over and was swept downstream. He eventually regained his footing in the river but did not feel like he could move without being swept down the river again.
