COMING SOON – Youth Exchangee Wanting Tips on Visiting Your Wonderful State

A bit about me: I'm going on Youth Exchange to Selah in Yakima County and wanted to know what the locals thought a visitor should know!

I'm 19 years old, female, and Australian although I was born in India I grew up in Australia for most of my life. I'm going on exchange for six weeks in December, and I know it gets pretty cold and etiquette there can be a little different.

I would really appreciate if any locals had any suggestions on how to pack, what to see, any local customs I should know about etc. Mostly, tell me what you love about your county! (Also, please explain how the area system works in America – in Australia all you gotta do is identify your state and suburb but we don't have counties).
