Ford is getting into the scooter business. The car-maker buying "Spin," an electric-scooter rental business, reportedly for anywhere between $80 and $90 million. Ford will invest about $200 million in Spin with plans to expand its reach from 32 markets to more than 100 in North America. The purchase comes as automakers seek to offer services to city residents who don’t want to own a car. Shares of ford are down 23% this year.
