According to a new report from DigiTimes, Apple is saying goodbye to the lightning connector and hello to the USB-C connector as it redesigns it’s chargers for its next-generation iPhone and iPad devices. This will move new iPhone buyers over to using USB-C for charging with a cable. It will also mean that customers can take advantage of Type-C fast charging. Apple is working to roll out the new charger next year.
